This Wilmington Engagement Session is extra close to my heart because Carolyn and Spencer were my REAL life friends before they became photo clients of mine! I have been buddies with them since they were guests at a wedding I photographed in MEXICO for their besties in 2019! I was so happy for them when Carolyn told me they were planning their wedding.
TRUTH TIME! Carolyn and Spencer actually booked me before they were even engaged! That might seem wild to some of you, but it actually happens pretty often! Couples who know they will be planning a wedding in the next year or so will oftentimes pre-book. This is because of how quickly popular dates tend to book out. Carolyn knew she wanted a Spring wedding. Since her family members are venue owners and in the wedding industry themselves, she knew Spring dates would disappear from my calendar quickly! Priorities, ya hear?! :p
I made a trip out to Wilmington for the engagement session and we spent the whole day hanging out with one another, while snagging photos throughout the day. The same weekend I made my visit, Carolyn and Spencer were also moving into the home they just bought together! I was so excited that I was able to get a few photos of them at their new family home …and we got to include their sweet husky girl, Glacier! In addition to photos at their new beautiful home, we made an appointment for photo time at Airlie Gardens and ended the night with our toes in the sand at Wrightsville Beach. This day was a highlight of my 2021 season and I cannot wait to celebrate the wedding of my dear friends in 2022!
