While I was visiting the gulf coast of Florida, Cassidy and Scott met with me to have their sailboat engagement session in the heart of Saint Pete!
A sailboat engagement session in the ocean during/after a storm is legit the hardest thing I’ve ever done, engagement photo wise — but dang: it was freaking cool and it didn’t hurt that my subjects were like…really cute, right?
I feel like in whatever profession you are in, you have those moments where you’re like: “Okay, this is a big test of skill: how’s it going to go?” and you either freak the eff out or you gear up and go for it.
I’m on team go for it because:
1)If you’re not struggling to own something, you’re not growing — no go, no grow, and who want’s to stay stagnant? Not I.
2) Life is all about experiences, right? I mean, before this session I had never even stepped on a freaking sail boat and here I was running, er…stumbling, let’s be honest…all over said sail boat, camera in hand with a double rainbow in the sky, dolphins bouncing out of water, and this totally in love duo who trusted me completely and had my back (literally, remember I was stumbling and bumbling a LOT). So like, who can say that?
3) Ya never know what ya ‘gon get! Thanks, Mr. Gump. & he’s right ya know? I have a hundred PLUS awesome photos on this boat that I can look back on and know that I pushed myself to work hard in achieving something that MEANS SO MUCH to someone, and that’s pretty damn cool.
So, what am I saying? Find a freaking challenge…and say YES to it.
