This Reynolda Gardens Engagement Session has everything I love. A location that’s five minutes from my house, a happy couple down for whatever fun I throw at them, dreamy light and a whole lot of smiles.
Couples who ask for my advice on a great engagement session location will always hear me say “Reynolda Garden’s“! If you do love this spot, make sure that you plan ahead. The location is available by appointment only. There is a small permit fee, but it is so worth it for these beautiful Winston-Salem views!
Sydney and I discussed a meet time for their session and we decided on 4:00 pm based on the current availability at Reynolda for their session date. At first, Sydney wanted to make sure that lighting would be okay at an ‘earlier than golden hour’ time. I assured her, YES! Everyone talks about golden hour being the only time to schedule an engagement session, but truthfully I disagree! I’m actually of sucker for mid-day light! On this late spring day, sunset was around 7:30 which was far later than our session time. Looking through these photos, you’ll see that Reynolda offers beautiful light throughout it’s grounds at all times of day. Be mindful that it does take a knowledgable photographer to spot those sweet spots for light when the sun is higher, but it is possible!
I had so much fun running around the gardens with Sydney and Alex. Can you believe Sydney graduated Med School the same week AND she and Alex were moving all day before their engagement session?! Talk about a busy duo! Tired as they may have been, you would never know looking at all the sweet moments from our time together.
I’m so excited to see them again for their downtown wedding at The Millennium Center as we celebrate with their favorite people by their side!
