There was no better way to kick off my 2021 wedding season than with this Playa Del Carmen Destination Wedding at Sandos Playacar! First of all, I am so happy we were all able to travel (safely) for the first time in over a year! We all know the last year and many months have felt overwhelmingly hopeless. This short trip full of sunshine and sweet love reminded me of how much I love what I do. It also shed light on how much we take the simple joy of exploring our beautiful Earthly home for granted!

Let’s talk about this wedding for a moment. After that, go diving into all the pretty photos from this Playa Del Carmen Destination Wedding. Picture this. It’s about a month before your destination wedding and you’re suddenly faced with finding a new photographer. This means finding someone, available for your date and okay to travel out of the country during the near sighted end of a global pandemic. YIKES, right? Well, without going into too much detail, this is what Lexi and Taylor were faced with. Lexi sent her sister, Carlee, who just so happens to be an ultra talented photographer herself on a hunt to help her find a great photographer. With the help of Facebook’s algorithm paired with the happenstance that I saw Carlee’s post in a big photo group at the right time… I became their go to girl.
I’ll never forget at the end of the Playa Del Carmen Destination Wedding day when Lexi hugged me and said “I’ve never been more thankful for someone bailing on me in my life”. Call it what you want, but I say that’s the best compliment a last minute wedding photographer could ever ask for. Haha! At this point, looking back through the photos from that week, I can’t imagine ever not being there alongside them. The couple and their friends took me in as their own and I now have fond memories of each of them throughout our short trip with one another.
A Colorful Occasion
This Playa Del Carmen Destination Wedding had my heart written all over it. In the sunny weather, with vibrant colors and happy people around, I was right in my favorite element. I loved feeling my toes in the sand throughout their ceremony, sunshine in our eyes. I will always welcome the salt from the ocean whipping in the wind throughout everyone’s hair. The Al Fresco Reception was beautiful designed by the bride with assistance from the resort staff and floral team. Dinner, dancing, and many tequila shots made this a trip the couple will cherish for a lifetime. I’m happy I get to show you a little piece of those moments throughout these photos.
