There’s nothing like a Downtown Winston Salem Engagement Session! It felt like home shooting the streets of our city because well, it IS home! I am lucky to call Downtown and Old Salem my home because I live so close to both areas of the city; right between the two, really.
When Monika told me she wanted a little bit of city with some old neighborhood vibes in her engagement session, I knew the streets of Winston Salem could make that happen!
We started the session downtown, where those wind tunnels between buildings get SO cold in the early March evenings. Hello, Spring? Are you ever coming to NC? After running around and laughing a lot downtown to keep us warm, we jumped in my car (heated seats for everyone) and rode a few blocks away to Old Salem! Old Salem is historically preserved town that was found by Moravian settlers in 1776! There is so much history within the few blocks that the area occupies and it’s such a wonderful place for photos as well! Think Charleston meets old west!
Monika and Houston had the best energy around one another. The amount of smiles throughout this engagement session made it so tough to narrow down which photos to share! There were so many beautiful moments. I know their wedding at the beautiful McAlister-Leftwich House is going to be one for the books!
