I find myself posting this beautiful Asheville Maternity Session to answer one question I get ALL the time. “Do you photograph Maternity Sessions or like any other sessions outside of ‘wedding world’?” Well, I hope that by scrolling this page you will see that the answer to that questions is a giant YES!
In fact, I love photographing Maternity sessions. This sweet family are dear friends of mine & Joshua’s. In fact, I’ve had the honor of photographing Maternity sessions for both of their pregnancies! It’s wild to think their oldest son is nearly 3.5 years old as I write this memo. This year was special because Tessa and her family came from our home state of FL to visit Joshua and I in NC for her Asheville Maternity Session. Since the family was already in town for their baby-moon and the leaves were at the end of peak season, it was the perfect opportunity for the session.
Where we shot and the journey up…
We ended up deciding to shoot at Max Patch which is one of my favorite session locations in ALL of NC. It’s a wild ride up to the trail heads, but luckily Joshua and I are Jeep owners and the 4 wheel drive definitely comes in handy for these types of adventure sessions. Once arriving to the trailhead, we soon start our trek to the top. I will forever brag on Tessa for being 7.5 months pregnant and literally hiking a mountain in her Tory Burch sandals. Haha! FYI, she did have boots with her for the session, as you’ll see — but the sandals were more comfortable to her and you do not question a determined pregnant woman hiking up a mountain, okay?! Haha!
After the short mile climb up, we made it to the top and the view was INCREDIBLE. I was so in my element and inspired by the natural beauty so evident with just the naked eye. Tessa & Shayne’s son was full of energy, even after tour hike to the top, so I was happy to have Joshua there, who love playing chase with him while I photographed mom and dad.
This session will forever remain in my heart. If you’re looking to plan a maternity session in Asheville, reach out and let’s get the plan in motion!
