This Asheville elopement at Craggy Pinnacle has so many awesome elements! From a sweet first look, to pup cuddles and even a hike up a mountain. There really is a lot to see here! The day started with a quiet morning getting ready at The Grand Bohemian Hotel in the Biltmore Village. Meredith and John were there with only Meredith’s parents, John’s brother and the couple’s two dogs!

Once they were ready to make the ride through the twists of the blue ridge parkway to reach their hike at Craggy Pinnacle, we did a quick first look! This included photos with their dogs too! Once we finished, Meredith jumped in my Rover (in her dress) and we went to Craggy! John rode up the mountain with his brother! It was a fun experience chatting in the car with Meredith about life while viewing all the beauty that the Blue Ridge mountains have to offer.

There’s a John Muir quote I often think about. “I’d rather be in the mountains thinking about God than be in church thinking about the Mountains”. I think that says a lot about choosing to elope too. Just because you’re not in a traditional setting, doesn’t mean the heart and soul behind the act isn’t still very present.

The Hike!

Some of my favorite moments from this Asheville Elopement at Craggy Pinnacle are from our hike. A lot of joking happened, some short rest breaks and careful pacing was involved to make sure Mere’s dress didn’t snag on any branches. Yes, she was brave enough to make the hike in her full wedding attire! Note: She had the coolest shoes for the hike and she says they were super comfortable too!

It was rather cold and dreary when their elopement ceremony started, but no joke, as soon as their officiant announced that they were married, the sun came out in FULL force! We were all so shocked and happy! I had the best time being a small part of this fun and intimate experience for Meredith and John.
